When choosing a transport company you want to entrust with the transport of your pet, it is good to start from the verification of the carrier.
Masters Global Sp. z o. o. is a certified carrier which possesses all the necessary licenses and permits.
You can check it easily:
1. Find the company's NIP or address and check it in publicly available government databases, e.g. National Court Register, Central Registry and Information on Business Activity. You will see the details of the company, its activity and how long it has been active on the market. Attention! If you can't find a company, it may mean that the transport is illegal and can be carried out by incidental people with no experience.
We advise you not to hand over your pet to them..
2. Each transport company operating in the field of animal transport both in Poland and certainly in international transport must meet a number of formal requirements imposed by law. Check whether the transport company has a valid approval for the transport of animals issued by the Poviat Veterinary Inspectorate, whether the horsebox or the trailer has a valid approval for the transport of animals issued by Poviat Veterinary Inspectorate. All companies involved in the transport of horses/animals are entered in the register kept by the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate with its registered office in Warsaw (GIW) located on the website https://www.wetgiw.gov.pl/nadzor weterynaryjny/transport-zwierzat What is more, in the case of international transport, the carrier is entered in the National Electronic Register of Road Transport Entrepreneurs KREPTD kept by the General Inspectorate of Road Transport at https://kreptd.gitd.gov.pl/.
3. Finally, it is recommended to read the information at the carrier's website, the opinions posted on the Internet, ask your friends and acquaintances.
4. Call the transport company, ask about additional issues associated with the transport of animals. In Masters Global Sp. z o. o. we will be happy to provide you with all the necessary information.
Performing the above activities (verification) gives you a lot of confidence that you will choose the right horse/animal transport company.
The answer to this question depends on the time of year, or more precisely on the prevailing temperatures outside. Below you will find some guidelines on how to prepare your horse for transport:
1. Cleanness. Clean the horse thoroughly before handing it over. You will avoid abrasions, cuts and scratches.
2. Health. The horse must be completely healthy. In the case of veterinary transport, e.g. to a clinic, inform the driver/escort about all injuries and administered medications.
3. Protectors. To protect the horse's legs during transport, we use transport pads, wraps with underlays or you can use ordinary tendon boots and bell boots. When deciding how to protect the horse's legs, we must be guided by common sense. If the horse is shod on four legs, we secure all legs. It is worth noting that when choosing a method of securing the legs, it is best to use boots protectors the horse is familiar with. If the horse has never travelled in transport protectors, then do not put them on. Otherwise, the horse will try to throw them off, which can be dangerous for his limbs.
4. Tail protector. If you are worried that the horse will wipe its tail during transport, which you care for so carefully, then put on a protector. It is important that the tail protector does not slip off during transport. We recommend braiding the tail for transport.
5. Halter and leash. Remember to transport your horse in a clean halter and with a leash. A clean halter protects the horse from abrasions and wounds. We know from experience that you like to put on beautiful, new fur halters. If the horse wears such a halter every day, there is no problem. It is worse when it is worn for the first time
during transport. When a horse sweats, it will want to scratch its leg or structural elements of the horsebox. This can lead to abrasions, wounds and even the horses head getting stuck in an unnatural position. From here it is a simple way to panic and further problems.
6. Rugs. If the temperature outside is above 6-8 degrees Celsius and the animal is transported in a horsebox, it is not necessary to put on a rug, because the temperature inside the vehicle will always be higher than outside. Especially when two horses are transported. The exception is when the horse is shaved. To be sure, ask before transport what rug to wear. When the outside temperature is much lower than 6-8 degrees Celsius, we recommend thin fleece rugs for shaved horses. If your horse spends most of the time in the paddock, we recommend not to put on rugs.
More documents are required in the case of international transport. In addition to the horse passport mentioned earlier which is needed also for domestic transport, it is necessary for the horse owner to obtain a TRACES document. This document is issued by the unit of the Poviat Veterinary Inspectorate, which operates in the area from which the horse is to leave. Here, we also recommend to conclude a contract with a transport company. In Masters Global Sp. z o. o., at every stage of the preparation and the performance of the transport, we help in obtaining the required TRACES documentation and with other issues associated with the international transport of horses/animals, e.g. organization of transfer stables, resting of horses, care.
